Jared LeBouef has been in the driver’s seat for the past several years as the General Manager here at The University Club. He has been in the golf business for over thirteen years where he worked his way to the top from the ground up. His is responsible for managing all aspects of the facility including the relationship between its patrons, employees, community, government and industry. He develops operating policies and procedures, along with directing the responsibilities of the UC management staff.
Jared began his career at Stonebridge Country Club in New Orleans as an Assistant Golf Professional. After a year in New Orleans, Jared moved to Lafayette, LA and became the Assistant Golf Professional at Oakbourne Country Club. In his 4 year tenure at Oakbourne, Jared successfully completed the Golf Professional Training Program earning the title as a Class A Golf Professional. In that same year he went on to win the Maxfli Pro-Pro Championship, the Gulf States Section Apprentice/Assistants Championship, and played on the Louisiana Apprentice/Assistant cup team where he was named captain. He finished the year off being named the Louisiana Apprentice/Assistant Player of the Year, served as the President of the Assistants Association, earned the title of Louisiana Apprentice of the Year, and married the other love in his life, Melissa.
In January 2000, Jared took on the role as Head Golf Professional of Gray Plantation in Lake Charles. At Gray, he continued to win other prestigious tournaments, including the McDonalds Louisiana Match Play Championship, Gulf States Section Pro-Assistants Championship and the Louisiana Chapter PGA Championship.
In early 2003 he accepted the Director of Golf at Carter Plantation in Springfield, Louisiana. While there he was awarded the 2005 Merchandiser of the Year and his staff was awarded top honors in customer service on the Audubon Trail. In addition Jared won the 2003 Gulf States Section Pro-President golf tournament.
In 2005 Jared was offered the General Manager position at the University Club and with his heart in the private sector it was a good match. In his tenure here at The University Club Jared was bestowed with two of the highest honors for Golf Professionals. In 2006 he was named the Gulf States Section Golf Professional of the year and in 2008 he was awarded the Bill Strausbaugh Award. This award is presented to the professional who serves as a mentor to other PGA Professionals and for representing the PGA of America with integrity and character.
In January of 2009, Jared and Melissa welcomed a new addition. Tanner James LeBouef has become the newest member of the LeBouef and UC family and his daddy could not be more proud. Jared feels as though he has found a home at The University Club and is optimistic about the future.
