The University Club is a private golf club designed for friends and supporters of LSU athletics. The club amenities include a Championship Golf Course that plays 7,270 yards from the back tees. The par 72 course has wide fairwarys bordered by challenging rough and native grasses. Strategically placed bunkers and water come into play on several holes. We offer 5 sets of tees to test every golfer's skill level. The practice facility is one of the best in the state! We have a large driving range stocked with Titleist NXT practice balls. There is a chipping green with 2 green-side bunkers, 2 putting greens, and 4 practice holes that complete the practice experience! The practice holes consist of a par 5, two par 4's & a challenging par 3. Along with our golf facilities, UC has an exclusive clubhouse built in the traditional Italian Renaissance style. Our cluhouse features tastefully decorated men's and ladies locker rooms, Member bar & grill, a veranda overlooking holes #10 and #18, and a spacious golf shop uniquely merchandised with a complete line of golf apparel and the latest golf equipment. The Swim & Tennis facility includes a five-lane pool, covered cabana with restroom and shower facilities, and four secured and lighted rubico tennis courts.
A percentage of every dollar spent at the University Club supports LSU athletics. Privately funded, the University Club deepens the relationship between LSU Alumni and the University. The University Club also serves as the home of the nationally ranked LSU men's and women's golf teams.
Designed by LSU Alumnus Jim Lipe, The University Club enhances the natural beauty of the setting and provides a challenging golf experience. Mr. Lipe has established himself as a premier golf course architect by having served as a Senior Design Associate with the Jack Nicklaus design group for over fifteen years, serving as lead designer of highly acclaimed courses such as Colleton River, Great Waters, and Pinehurst National.
